FlexCoders Ltd is a web application developer and managed hosting services provider, originally based in London, and since 2021, headquartered in Glasgow.

The FlexAdmin project was developed to create a web based central management console for servers running Redhat Enterprise Linux. Using the console, all aspects of the Operating System could be managed, from configuration to system upgrades. In addition, applications developed to run on these servers could be managed centrally, using a plugin-based system past of these applications.

The project is used by FlexCoders Ltd internally, to manage the managed hosting services infrastructure, but also for the now discontinued FlexRadius project, a distrubuted radius based solution for wifi guest authentication, like the kind you find in offices, hotels and restaurants.

Project challenges

•  Make the design modular so it could be used as an application framework for future applications.
•  Design and build a stong and secure system to manage distributed system, installed nationwide.
